Smoking Prevalence

Disaggregated data is important and necessary in addressing tobacco control issues in the Asian American & Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander (AA&NHOPI) community. National aggregated data shows a 10% smoking rate among Asian Americans not taking ethnicity and gender into consideration, masking the diversity of the community (Laotian American males have reported smoking rates as high as 72%).
